[written by kristin] Before an event tends to happen that I am not looking forward to, I tend to torture myself with dread even before it has occurred. Not good. Like some Sunday nights, instead of enjoying the evening, I dread that it is the last of the weekend. So here I am again, pre-dreading. I am sad and melancholy because a man that I love is moving. But of course, not for a few weeks.

I have a friend who met a guy recently. They met through a mutual friend at a bar. They've continued connecting through snippets of responses on Facebook. He's only intiated contact through Facebook. She was looking for help moving furniture, posted it on Facebook and he responded with an offer to help her move. They went out for a bite to eat afterwards and had a good conversation face-to-face. She went out of town for a week, and he continues to connect through general exchanges on Facebook. Is he interested in her romantically, or just as a friend?

[written by Kristin] I often wonder if women dress to attract a mate or to dress for each other. It's funny because if you ask a man what he prefers, more than likely he would prefer a woman in a brighter color than our typical browns or blacks that we wear. Have you ever noticed the attention you receive when you wear that special bright dress?

I recently met a woman who refers to the men she's seeing by where they are from and not their names. There's "New York Guy, and "Swedish Guy." I found it a little odd. When I asked her why she doesn't use their names, she simply said, "Until there's a ring, they are nameless."

So why is it in a city that has a huge population of singles, I keep hearing over and over again that "dating in LA is hard"? It makes no sense to me. If there are a ton of singles, dating should be easy, right? Especially with all the dating experts, matchmakers and singles events than I ever thought were possible in one city, they are everywhere!

Yesterday, I was doing some work down by the beach and I noticed this amazing Hot Rod! Check out the pics... I know men typically have a love for their cars, the more expensive the better. Its amazing to live in a city, where people have BMWs and Mercedes but live in a studio apartment. And lets not forget the common Bentley and Porsche. Cars are definitely a status here.

Last weekend, I spent four hours with some sweet animals looking for a new home. The Washington Humane Society had an adoption event at RCKNDY on U Street in DC.

Don't you always wonder where the good men are? You know, the ones you are attracted to that like to do the things you like to do? Maybe we need to look at spicing up our routine and get out there and do some different things for a change. Wouldn't you like to know 37 Places to Meet the Man of Your Dreams! A friend sent me this cartoon. I found it very endearing and kind of sad. I wonder how many guys feel this way?

Do you know that you can tell if someone is lying to you by observing their behaviors? I had this discussion with a friend the other day. He said that if someone is using their fingers to cover their mouth when they are speaking to you, or clearing their throat alot are two indications that someone is not being honest. I decided to further investigate the topic.

[written by Tamera] Since "married" is the status our society thinks all should aspire to be, I thought it would be nice to read a guy's view on the subject. I found this interesting article by Joseph Dunn who writes about Guyland and it's leader, George Clooney.

[written by kristin] If I think back to my 20's I realize that the traits I was looking for in a man are somewhat different than the traits today. This doesn't surprise me really, because as we grow through experiences, are needs and desires do change. But many also take the road of "settling" to have companionship.

[written by Tamera] We've all had one good friend nudge us to try online dating. Some of us have friends who decided to put up a profile for us. (I know someone who posted his mother's profile, how cute is that?!). "Come on," they say, "What do you have to lose?"
